SBI Digital Banking Head Nitin Chugh Exits as Contract Ends, Declines to Reveal Next Role

At SBI, Chugh was responsible for driving customer acquisition through digital channels and for defining and implementing digital strategies.

State Bank of India (SBI) said that Deputy Managing Director and Head (Digital Banking & Transformation) Nitin Chugh has left the bank following the end of his contract. Chugh did not disclose his next role. He joined SBI in March 2022.

In an exchange filing on March 2, SBI said, “We inform that the contract period of Shri Nitin Chugh, Deputy Managing Director (DMD) & Head (Digital Banking & Transformation) is concluding on 03.03.2026, accordingly, he has been relieved from the services of the Bank at the close of business hours on 02.03.2026 (03.03.2026 being a public holiday).”

At SBI, Chugh was responsible for driving customer acquisition through digital channels and for defining and implementing digital strategies.

In an interaction with FE FUTECH, Chugh, without revealing his next role, said, “I won’t be able to comment or provide any response right now. Will update when the time is right.”

State Bank of India (SBI) appointed Nitin Chugh as DMD and Head of Digital Banking in March 2022. Chugh earlier served as Managing Director and CEO of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank and as Head of Digital Banking at HDFC Bank.

Apart from a postgraduate degree in management, Chugh holds a B.Tech degree in electrical and computer science from NIT, Kurukshetra.
